Seiko Introduces New Sportura Kinetic-drive Watch

Sportura was born in two thousand years, and its inspiration comes from racing. He is one of Seiko’s most successful products. This year, the design of the series has been slightly modified, but the main representative elements have been retained. A redesign based on ergonomic considerations improves reading performance. The visually striking black dial is protected by anti-reflective sapphire crystal, and red embellishment makes the powerful white hands more eye-catching. The shape of the crown has been redesigned for easier operation, and its shape is an imitation of aluminum alloy wheels. Sportura’s biggest change, however, is the movement. Seiko used Kinetic Direct Drive Calibre 5D22 for the first time in the flagship model of the Sportura series. This movement directly converts the energy of the wearer’s movement into the power of watch movement (similar to an automatic movement). This is the source of the watch’s excellent performance, with a reliability of just 24 seconds, reaching 24 hours. Seiko also added a feature called Direct Drive, which can be seen from the marker indicator at nine o’clock. The pointer of this indicator allows the user to accurately check the energy storage situation and, if necessary, to know if he needs to manually wind it directly. In ‘real time’ mode, the hands show the degree of winding in real time.
